Scamont’s industry leading product range is available to customers globally.
The group’s Head Office operates from the Roodepoort facility, and manufacturing operations run from both the Roodepoort and Germiston branch (both in Johannesburg). Scamont’s technical support and sales staff are mobile; operating nationally and internationally.
The international customer base is serviced via Head Office in South Africa. A network of internationally based partners allows the company to extend its technical and sales support beyond the South African borders to as far afield as Australia and Brazil. All international business is first dealt with by Head Office in South Africa and then allocated to our representative in the relevant region. This market coverage model ensures that the international client is able to freely access the company’s products and services at the best possible prices.
The Scamont Group was founded when Luciano Sandri acquired Scamont Engineering in 1978. At the time, the company was operating as a small jobbing firm based in Jeppestown, Johannesburg.
Over the next four years, Scamont was strategically repositioned as a manufacturer of Positive Displacement Slurry pumps. Success in this market required the commissioning of increased production capacity by 1983. The launch of the Scamont SP200 pump in 1984 signalled the company’s entry into the market as a major supplier of slurry pumps throughout the South African mining industry.
Scamont is committed to the principles of empowerment and transformation that underpin South Africa’s progressive democracy and to this end has successfully developed and implemented a registered employment equity plan, a formal skills development plan and entered into an empowerment transaction.
Scamont Engineering (Pty) Ltd as a member of the Scamont Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd Group is 30.12% black-owned, and as such fully complies with the requirements of the Mining Charter.
Furthermore, as a measure of Scamont’s commitment to human resource advancement and training, the company has set aggressive training and development targets. The company boasts a staff complement of 120 people, with some having served the company for 30 years.
